Job Description:
MedStar Health is seeking a Director of Nursing for Psychiatric
Services to lead our dedicated mental health team. This pivotal
role focuses on delivering exceptional patient care within our
psychiatric department, aligning with our mission to prioritize
patient-first healthcare. The Director will oversee all nursing
activities, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, innovate
patient care procedures, and mentor nursing staff. This position
requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of
psychiatric patient care management. Manage the nursing staff and
oversee the hiring, training, and continuous education of the
psychiatric department. Develop and implement nursing care plans
for psychiatric patients. Ensure compliance with federal, state,
and local regulations and standards. Collaborate with
interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Monitor and continuously improve patient care quality and
efficiency. Prepare and manage departmental budgets. Strong
leadership and organizational skills Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills In-depth knowledge of psychiatric disorders
and treatments Ability to manage high-stress situations Proven
track record in developing effective nursing care plans Competency
in healthcare regulatory standards Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Registered Nurse
(RN) license required. Certified Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) preferred.
BLS/ACLS certification.
