Northrop Grumman's Technical Services sector is seeking a Manager Information Systems Administration 2to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Woodlawn, MD. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health Solutions Management division that support federal government customers. This role is crucial to the success of our team. The successful job candidate must have excellent communication skills and be a detail-oriented self-starter. Will be required to coordinate with internal and external support teams and is skilled at managing data center operations and day-to-day infrastructure and O&M support. This person will be an individual contributor but will work well within and across teams to accomplish his/her tasks. The chosen candidate will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team developing analytical applications for Northrop Grumman's Healthcare systems. In this role, the senior technical operations lead will be expected to: * Provide guidance and leadership to organization managers on all technical issues impacting the O&M and DevOps functions of the team * Oversee software, firmware, and hardware operations activities such as upgrades, maintenance and break/fix operations coordinating with vendors and subcontractors as applicable * Coordinate and participate in projects to design, develop, test, install and maintain specialized technical operations * Conduct impact analyses on change tickets imitating both from the data center and from the development teams to determine potential impact on parallel activities, underlying applications and/or resources/budget/schedule * Manage and lead communication with the operations team around upcoming schedules of activities, task assignments and status reporting * Track operations and maintenance activities in JIRA ensuring team members are assigned tasks appropriately and updates/roadblocks are provided and escalated accordingly * Troubleshoot technical emergencies in an immediate fashion, collaborating with other functional areas of the team as appropriate * Serve as technical lead for production break/fix scenarios, supporting on-call schedules if needed * Provide write-ups and reports on project status, root cause analyses and corrective actions as needed * Support and respond to questions from the customer, co-workers and managers as well as vendors and suppliers on technical project topics * Create schedules and budget/resource plans in coordination with hosting vendor and internal team in support of operations activities such as software upgrades or hardware expansions * Establish and identify best practices and SOPs for operations activities and processes * Perform cost benefit analyses and return on investment comparisons for recommendations for future projects and changes * Support strategic planning and goal setting activities for the program roadmap Supervisory or management responsibilities for projects engaged in more than one of the following information systems and/or related areas: personal computer applications training, data control and scheduling coordination, systems administration, data security administration, and associated fields. Basic Qualifications: * A Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field and a minimum of 10 years related technical experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. * Minimum of 5 plus years managing or overseeing tasks performed by a technical team * Demonstrated experiencesupporting major development projects with demonstrated technical abilities based on prior applied work experience * Minimum of 6 years of experience in infrastructure, data center/hosting complex projects with expertise in both hardware/software/firmware dynamics and implications * Must have the ability to provide systems support in an enterprise production 24x7 environments, with rotating on-call duties as needed * US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card holder) is required in order to obtain and maintain required Position of Public Trust clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with CMS Virtual Data Center hosting, CMS physical data centers, and cmsnet intranet connectivity * Experience in tracking and managing physical server installations and upgrades, as well as warranty and service activities with the hardware maintainer * Experience in managing Linux-based systems * Demonstrates ability to communicate with individuals at many different levels from within and from outside of the company * Experience analyzing complex situations and delivery advance and direction to technical staff in times of uncertainty * Excellent communication and team-building expertise * Goal-oriented demeanor and ability to get things done with a proactive and forward thinking approach * Experience in web based application development * Work-related experience in Hortonworks Hadoop distribution * Experience working with CMS customers * Systems analysis and management skills related to: DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery methodologies Unix/Linux Server Administration HIPAA Security Root Cause/Corrective Action Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
