This is a challenging and rewarding position to provide mission
assurance of electrical components for a space-based RF payload. A
successful professional in this role applies knowledge of NASA
mission assurance categories and applicable standards to select
appropriate electrical components for space payloads rated from
mission class A thru D. The senior electrical components engineer
not only understands electrical components but also recommends
alternative components and risk mitigations to address the rigors
of space flight, especially radiation effects. This role requires
collaboration with design engineers and manufacturing
engineers.
Duties :
Assess customer requirements for a variety of projects and ensure
that effective quality control processes are being used and
tracked.
Assess space parts levels, compare to requirements, and set up test
plans for deltas.
Identify deviations from quality standards and provide guidance and
mitigation.
Perform failure reviews to identify deficiencies and determine
corrective actions. Maintain quality records with latest
findings
Assist incoming receiving and material inspection personnel with
interpreting space parts testing and component acceptance.
Work well with manufacturing and engineering personnel.

Here's What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
10 years Aerospace/NASA experience.
Experience with aerospace safety and mission assurance standards
such as TOR-2011(8591), DOD-HBDK-343, and NASA NPR 8705.4.
Experience with quality management of hardware design, mechanical
design, software design and production/flight hardware.
Experience with AS9100 or similar quality management system
standards and methodologies.
Familiarity with the GIDEP program.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must have good interpersonal and team-oriented skills.
Excellent organization and attention to detail.
Clearance Requirement : TS/SCI/POLY.
This position requires the individual to be clearable to a Top
Secret/SCI security clearance, based on current background
investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of
polygraph. Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by
the U.S. Government. Factors considered for a U.S. Government
Security Clearance include, but are not limited to:
U.S. Citizenship (Required)
